Single Of The Moment :
Las Ketchup - The Ketchup Song (Asereje) " 86 % Rated "

The Prodigy - Baby's Got A Temper :
In a word, we will describe this new single as unstoppable. Instantly prodigy demand the listeners attention starting with haunting chimes, and they hold up their amazing pace throughout the track. The vocals are great punk style, and have hard-hitting lyrics like, "your not worthy!" and "jus' like yer right 'ole family!" & those who are a fan of prodigy, and haven't heard much of their new stuff; do not ever doubt these guys. Another thing you should know that in comparison to their first stuff it's quite amazing how Liam's styles have changed over time. This has a rockier sound but you can definitely hear that it's drawn all kinds of elements from previous tunes but it still sounds new.Unsurprisingly, it features Keith belting out his lyrics in the usual fashion, neither rapping nor singing, but kind of rhythmically shouting. If you wanted to hear the instrumental version, you soon will find that without Keith, the track just isn't complete. It's got a great structure to it and we think Prodigy are going straight to the top with it. Nicely done and can't wait for the rest of the tunes.

Alanis Morissette - Precious illusions :
This single is great. Alongside "so unsexy", "precious illusions" is her latest album's best single. It starts out with a "so unsexy-you outta know" type track but suddenly changes. It's an unusual single that is very different from other singles we've heard. The tune suddenly changes into "Ironic type chorus" as well as being a mixture of "thank you", "Narcissus", "so unsexy" and "head over feet". It has neither "head over feet's harmonica" nor "you outta know's aggressive tone". What it has is a great guitar-instrumental sounds collaboration. The music is filled with all kinds of different tunes. The track's tone suddenly gets better when she sings the "I've spent so long..." part in the song. The single's tone is similar to "hand in my pocket" from her Jagged Little Pill LP. Precious illusions is for all Alanis Morissette vocal performance fans and for most Shakira fans. we really love listening to this single. It's really worth it. If you enjoy this, be sure to check out "so unsexy" because you'll be sure to like that too.

Britney Spears - Boys :
Early reports suggest this single might not even sell enough to make the top five, which is a great shame as we think it's a terrific piece of work. As so many artists are doing nowadays, "Boys" has been freshened up with a new remix accompanied by an attractive, sexy, not to mention, costly video featuring stars such as Mike Myers. The new version, otherwise titled "CO-ED Remix", features vocals from Pharrell Williams, best known from rock group N.E.R.D. Although his appearance was a good asset to the song, we personally feel he had too big a part and overshadowed Spears in aspects. The title "Britney Spears and Pharrell Williams" opposed to "Britney Spears featuring Pharrell Williams" was more appropiate in my view. It's a vast improvement on what was a bland album version, computeresque noises and, of course, Pharrell's vocals transform the track into an interesting, original tune.

Bryan Adams - Here I Am :
catchy, great song, great voice. what more could u ask for?! .Bryan is an excellent singer and defiantly deserves number one in the charts. A great Video which really fits with the song. It has a perfect ending with him walking off into the sunset with his guitar. Bryan rocks! offcourse. and thought it was an enormous transformation for bryan Adams. this artist proves that though he gets older his singing/song writing talent only gets better. His huskiness is a great delight to listen to, helping him bring out the emotions, only very few artisits can do this. We were overjoyed to be channel surfing one day and come across the video for this new song "Here I Am". It's a fantastic new direction for Bryan. His career has come of age as he still maintains the husky voice, guitar riffs and rock orientation but gives it a new style - very deep and thought provoking. we could get lost in this song. Any fans won't be disappointed by this song. Adams at his best success ever now !!! .

Shakira - Underneath Your Clothes :
Already a huge star in the Latin world as well as a sensation in the US, Shakira (the graceful one) is all set to take the UK pop charts by storm with her stunning debut single. After the massively successful "Whenever, Wherever", Shakira returns with one of the most stunning tracks from her English language debut "Laundry Service". In a recent interview Shakira admitted to having had bought a rhyming dictionary to aid her in the writing of this album, and it shows in places like "Underneath your clothes, there's and endless story, there's the man I chose, there's my territory", the examples are limitless, but we are sure you can pull your own. All in all this track is one of the best from her album, it not only shows that she can master a pop tune that remains on the top of the world charts for countless weeks, but it also shows she's got what it takes to stay around in the English language music market, and make a mark that is more than just skin deep, like her counterparts (Britney, Christina). |

Darren Hayes - Strange Relationship :
Once again the amazing singing/songwriting talent of Australian Darren Hayes shines through in his new single "Strange Relationship". Not only littered with a series of intelligent and meaningful lyrics but also accompnied by his very own unique style of melodic vocals and strong sense of genuine sincerety. Strange Relationship is a funky, soulful tune from the singer of chart-topping Savage Garden!. Warm strings, a strong beat and Darren's beautiful falsetto voice make this one amazing song. It's hard to find truly meaningful songs fom the heart at the moment but this is certainly one. So Bad is a sexy, upbeat pop song from Darren, showing he can make you party! It is certainly not a typical B-side, he could easily release it as a single on its own. And as for Sexual Healing, it will bring tears to your eyes!.. yeah, after the overplayed but otherwise good first single "Insatiable", he once again strikes a chord with his "Strange Relationship", one of these songs that clearly expose Darren's thoughtful and clever lyrics, and, above all, his melodic sweet golden voice .

Vanessa Carlton - A Thousand Miles :
This is such a beautiful song. Carlton is an excellent pianist who plays on all her songs, and apparently writes most of them too. The piano backing is perfect in 'A Thousand Miles'and the lyrics very meaningful. we first heard this song on the 'Legally Blonde' soundtrack, that's the only way we came across this song & it's one of the best songs on the soundtrack. She has such a lovely soothing yet unique voice. It's one of those very thought-provoking songs which is perfect if you're just chilling or in a deep thinking mood. Vanessa Carlton has a wonderful voice and writes her own lyrics and music. A thousand miles is absolutely excellent, it is the type of song that you can listen to all day and each time you hear it you love it a bit more. If you like Michelle Branch you will like Vanessa too. She shares the quality that Tori Amos gives to her performances and this is very much worth adding to your collection. If you're into talented and subtle female songwriters its perfect.

Eminem - Without Me :
Hmm Eminem...well you either like him or you hate him. Those in the loving Eminem camp will be impressed with this latest effort the first offering from his third album the Eminem Show and the first solo effort we've heard since the ground breaking Marshall mathers LP. There are the usual staples of all the best Eminem tracks solid rapping, a tirade of insults aimed at those in celebrity culture that he hates, and a pop or two and Mom, and a catchier beat than ebola. The lyrics are similar to before but he manages to put a new spin on all his old insults making fun of his own rise to stardom with a little arrogance and self-depreciation: "I am the worst thing since Elvis Presley/to do black music so selfishly and use it to get myself wealthy" hey there's a concept that works. The joy of this single is the video which is a masterpiece portraying among other things Dr Dre and Eminem dressed as Batman and Robin type characters who tongue in cheek spend the video trying to prevent a young boy from listening to his parental advisory CD, along the way we see talk shows, Moby, Survivior and the Real world take a kicking.

Avril Lavigne - Complicated :
UK STAND UP AND TAKE NOTE!! Lavigne is the hottest Canadian export since Alanis. Her debut single 'Complicated' has been a huge hit accross the pond and is sure to have the same success anywhere all around the world . Lavigne's punk-rock skater image moves away from some of the new metal sounds that are dominating the music scene right now and edges towards the ska-rock sound favoured by the likes of Gwen Stefani in her early years and Pink's recent album 'Misundaztood'.'Complicated' boasts angst ridden lyrics with a femenist kick .. Added to the list of brilliant Canadian divas (that includes multi-platinum sellers like Alanis Morissette, Shania Twain, Celine Dion, Church, and Nelly Furtado) is Avril Lavigne. An alternative pop rock female with a good vocal talent, she can be described as being a younger Canadian Alanis. "Complicated" is the catchy track that has made it to the top 5 in the US and continues to rake in thousands in sales! If you enjoyed Alanis Morissette's alternative songs and Nickelback's "You remind me", you'll probably enjoy this. It's a bright new voice from a bright star. It's worth hearing! |

Coldplay - In My Place :
After a while out of the limelight and a fairly turbulent time for Coldplay its great to see them return with the best song of their career. It pulls upon the unrequited love echoing from Jeff Buckleys work while mixing with the melancholic hope found in REM's "Everybody Hurts,".All mixed with Chris Martins original vocal style its one of the most refreshing sounds "N.A.M." has offered since... well since Coldplay released "The Blue Room," e.p.Moreover after finding little enjoyment in acoustic movement as of late we have once again realised that quite does speak oh so loud ... This single is the first offering from the album, "A rush of blood to the head", and there is just one word to describe it, "WOW!!". This single was well worth the wait. It makes a natural progression from the previous releases although is far superior as like 'Yellow' it is one of those songs to send shivers down your spine, and yet it is somehow better with far better lyrics, melody and riffs. Like 'Such a rush' from the 'Blue room ep' it has a nice mellow build up to a crashing cresendo before mellowing out again . |
Kylie Minogue - Love At First Sight :
Since the smash-hit No.1 single Can't Get You Out Of My Head from September 2001, Kylie Minogue has enjoyed her biggest success since 1988. Can't Get You Out Of My Head sold more than 1,150,000 copies last year to become the 3rd biggest seller of 2001. The No.1 album Fever has sold more than 1,000,000 copies in the UK (7,000,000 worldwide) and the hit single In Your Eyes hit No.3 in February. Her sold out European tour kicked off in spectacular fashion in April 2002 and has yet to finish. Love At First Sight is the third single from the amazing album Fever. Kylie's done it again!!. Love at First Sight has everything for the dance floor divas in us. We can sing along to the simple melody, which I just can't get out of my head, while attempting to look as cool as Kylie in our newly aqcuired white hooded jump suit! What we'd all give to look that good?? we should be so lucky! Its not trying to change the world, its just a classic pop tune that will have you spinning around and doing the locomotion til you can hardly breathe! .

Lasgo - Alone :
This is Lasgo's second single following their successful hit "Something". This new song is again a nice female vocal pop/trancer with two superb remixers by Peter Luts and Ian Van Dahl. Of the two mixes it's a toss up as to which is the better mix. Both are synthesized screamers with nice female vocals by Evi Goffin. The other remix is the extended version which is shorter in time length than the other remixes, but still a superb mix as well. If you enjoy listening to songs such as "Will I?" by Ian Van Dahl, "Something" by Lasgo, "Tremble"by Marc Et Claude and "The Sound Of Goodbye" by Perpetuous Dreamer than You'll eat this song up! Alone is another well produced track by the belgian three awesome. It is indeed a very catchy tune incuding again, the beautiful vocal telents of Evi Goffin and is sure to be a huge hit in the charts and the club scene. This song is a must for anyone's collection. Brilliant stuff. Go on, you know your ears deserve it!!

Oasis - Stop Crying Your Heart Out :
If the only songs you have heard off of the upcoming album "Heathen Chemistry" are "The Hindu Times" and "Stop Crying Your Heart Out", you would think tht "Stop Crying Your Heart Out" was a brilliant choice, but having heard a cd which contains all the songs on the album (is something amazing)I guess , there are songs that would have been better to release than "Stop Crying Your Heart Out" (e.g. Little By Little, She Is Love and Force Of Nature), which are much better songs and that will be noticed by people who have heard those songs. But that isn't to say that "Stop Crying Your Heart Out" is a bad song, there are very few bad Oasis songs and this isn't one of them. Liam's haunting vocals and Noel's lyrics are beautifully done and it's nice how the piano mostly makes up the melody of the song instead of the guitar for change. But we all still think that "The Hindu Times" was the better single from "Heathen Chemistry", as it was upbeat, punchy and it was pure rock n' roll, which is what Oasis are.A must for all Oasis fans and anyone with music in their blood.
